All applicants for work permits should be submitted to Immigration Department Headquarters.

The applicant should obtain a file number within a period not exceeding 14 (fourteen) working days.

Thereafter the applicant checks to ascertain whether the application has been considered.

Consideration of the permit does not exceed 30 working days. Remember to fill both Entry Permit 1 and 2

The pass is issued to dependants of foreigners who have legalized their stay in Uganda

 e.g. children below 18 years and next of kin who depend on the holder of any legal facility

 issued by the department. 

It should be noted that this pass does not entitle an individual to work.

-Two photos

-marriage certificate

-birth certificate in case of child/parent relationship

-copies of dependent's passport

-work permit/citizenship certificate for the applicant

A Special Pass allows one to work on a short term basis. It services people doing business within a period not exceeding five months and those awaiting the Immigration control Board's decision after applying for either Entry Permits, Certificates of Residence or Dependants Pass.

· Letter explaining why the applicant requires Special Pass

· Holder's Passport
