The life of Ugandan nationals planning to travel to Israel has been made easy as Israel has set up a Visa Processing Liaison office in Kampala. People intending to travel to Israel no longer have to travel to Nairobi, Kenya to have their visas processed but can now do it locally. The Israeli visa processing office is located at Kampala Casino, 4th Floor.

This revelation came following a meeting between Michael Bouzaglo, the Consul and Chief Administrative officer at the Israeli Embassy in Nairobi and the commissioner Immigration control Anthony Namara who was with other Immigration Officials including senior Immigration officers Okumu Wilfred and Igoye Agnes.

Bouzaglo said that Ugandans will no longer have to incur travel costs to Nairobi for visa Applications as the processing of all visa applications by Ugandans will be done from Uganda in coordination with the Israeli Embassy in Nairobi. Successful applicants will also pick their issued visas from the same liaison office. Bouzaglo says this is sign of commitment of Israel to the Ugandan people.

Commissioner Namara while expressing gratitude for the Visa liaison office said that this will increase convenience for Ugandans intending to travel to Israel, whether for tourism, business, Agricultural, academics or any other purpose.

Hundreds of Ugandan Agriculture Students have had practical internships in Israel under an Agro-Studies program where Israel offers scholarships to the Ugandan Students to enhance their knowledge. Israel is also a top destination for Ugandans on religious pilgrimage.
